Nature and geography

Brazil is the 5th largest country in the world both in size, 8,5 million square km, and in population, 190 million inhabitants. With continental dimensions it shares 16 thousand kilometres of borders with ten countries and a coast with 9,2 thousand kilometres on the South Atlantic.

 

Brazil offers the tourist the opportunity to see many different ecosystems. The country has preserved large natural ecosystems, some with unique characteristics on the planet. Areas with huge rainforest, rivers, countless waterfalls and a diversity of fauna and flora which can only be found in this country - one can get in close communion with nature. Most of the tourists who choose Brazil as their travel destination are drawn by thousands of sunny beaches and warm waters.

Amazon Rain Forest dominates more than 40% of the national territory where is located the Mamirauá Project, the largest Sustainable Development Reserve in the world, that has over 1,124,000 ha of preserved forest. The Amazon is the most biodiverse place on Earth.
